Serving Hoover
Your neighborhood glass company in Hoover
Hankins Glass is based right here in Hoover (ZIP 35244), so most of our appointments are a short drive away. When you call, you're talking with a local team that knows Hoover's neighborhoods, its mix of older and newer homes, and how hard the Alabama sun is on west-facing glass.
Hoover is one of the largest cities in the Birmingham area and stretches across both Jefferson and Shelby counties, from the established streets of Bluff Park on Shades Mountain to Riverchase, Ross Bridge, Trace Crossings, Lake Cyrus and the communities off Highway 280 and I-459. That range means we see every kind of glass project, from original single-pane windows to builder-grade showers in homes that are ready for a first remodel.

Custom Mirrors detailsWhat we see most in Hoover homes
In Bluff Park and other neighborhoods built in the 1950s through the 1970s, many homes still have original wood or early aluminum windows. Those are the projects where full window replacement makes the most noticeable difference in comfort and noise.
In Riverchase and the subdivisions that went up in the 1980s and 1990s, the first generation of double-pane windows is reaching the age where seals fail. If you're seeing haze between the panes, replacing just the foggy glass unit is often an option worth pricing.
Newer homes in Ross Bridge, Trace Crossings and Lake Cyrus tend to call us for bathroom upgrades: swapping a framed or curtain-style shower for frameless glass, or replacing a clip-mounted builder mirror with a custom vanity mirror.
