Custom Mirrors in Hoover and Birmingham, AL

Bathroom vanity, wall and full-length mirrors cut to size with polished or beveled edges, measured and installed in your home.

Custom Mirrors

Mirrors cut to fit your space

A mirror that is sized properly for the wall can make a bathroom look finished, brighten a dark hallway and make a small room feel larger. Off-the-shelf mirrors rarely fit an existing vanity or wall exactly, which is where a custom-cut mirror comes in.

Hankins Glass measures your space and installs custom mirrors for bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, entryways and home gyms across Hoover, Birmingham and nearby communities. We can replace a builder-grade mirror over a vanity, fill a wall from counter to ceiling, or add a full-length mirror where you need one.

Mirrors pair naturally with a bathroom refresh, so many customers add a vanity mirror when they order a new shower door. We can coordinate both in the same visit.

Options

Types of custom mirrors

Tell us how you plan to use the space and we will help you choose the size, edge and placement.

Bathroom vanity mirrors

Sized to the width of your vanity or to each sink, from a single wide mirror to separate mirrors over his-and-hers sinks.

Wall mirrors

Large mirrors cut to fit a wall section, hallway, dining room or entry to reflect light and make the space feel bigger.

Full-length mirrors

Floor-to-head-height mirrors for bedrooms, closets and dressing areas, mounted securely to the wall.

Home gym mirrors

Wide wall mirrors for a home gym or workout room so you can check form, sized to the wall you have.

Edge finishes

Polished edges are smooth and clean, a simple, modern finish that works well for frameless vanity mirrors and wall mirrors that sit inside a frame of trim or tile.

Beveled edges are ground at an angle around the perimeter, creating a framed, light-catching border without adding an actual frame. A bevel adds a more traditional or upscale look and is popular on standalone wall mirrors.

Planning your mirror

A few details make a big difference in how a mirror looks once installed: the height relative to your faucets and backsplash, how far it extends past the edges of the vanity, where light fixtures and outlets sit, and whether it should run up to the ceiling or stop short. We look at all of these during the estimate and recommend a size and position before anything is cut.

Replacing an old mirror? We can remove the existing mirror as part of the job. Older mirrors are sometimes glued directly to the wall, which can affect the drywall behind them, so we will look at how yours is mounted first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have a question that isn’t answered here? Call (205) 639-9893 or send us a message.

What is the difference between polished and beveled edges?

A polished edge is smooth and flat for a clean, modern look. A beveled edge is ground at an angle around the border, which catches light and gives a framed appearance without a frame.

Can you remove my old bathroom mirror?

Yes, we can remove an existing mirror as part of the project. If the old mirror is glued to the wall, removal can damage the drywall surface behind it, so we will look at how it's mounted and talk through what to expect.

How big should a vanity mirror be?

A common approach is a mirror slightly narrower than the vanity, or one that spans the full width for a built-in look. Height depends on your ceiling, lights and faucets. We will recommend a size that fits your space during the estimate.

Do you install mirrors for home gyms?

Yes. We can size wall mirrors for a home gym or workout room. Tell us the wall dimensions and how you plan to use the space when you request a quote.
